Is the Subservient Chicken a new kind of word-of-mouth-friendly advertising? You betcha!
It's advertising that I like, that I want to visit, and best of all, want to tell you about. I did not get paid to post this advertisement. Imagine that. Burger King got a Microsoft guy to advertise for free.
Who told me about this? Folks at an MSN meeting I just spoke at. Translation: expect more.
You know what? I love this stuff. Totally better than pop ups and banner ads and stuff that gets in my face. Advertisers: pay attention. This is the way to do it.
Another one doing ads like this? American Express (check out their Superman ads).
Another example? BMW with BMW Films.
Or, the famous Honda COG ad (yes, it took about 600 takes to film that).
Even better? If you don't wanna see these ads, you can avoid them. So they are only getting positive customer interactions. Warm and fuzzies all the way around.
Anyone have any other examples?
